Tom was born in Burbank California, the son of Max and Jean Truman, attended Ft Osage High School graduating in 1965 and served his country as a member of the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. Tom married Patt Carr and they had one son, Jason Truman who servied as Master of Buckner Lodge No 501 and Master of Kadosh of the Kansas City Valley of the Scottish Rite.
Brother Truman received his Masonic Degrees in Buckner Lodge No 501 receiving his EA degree December 5, 1972, his Fellowcraft Degree January 16, 1973 and was raised to the subline Degree of Master Mason on March 16, 1972.
Member and Past Master of Buckner Lodge No 501, Member and Past Master of Kansas City Lodge No 220. Member of Ivanhoe Lodge No 446 and the Missouri Lodge of Research Past Worthy Patron, Buckner Chapter No 280 Order of the Eastern Star. Past Master of Kadosh, Kansas City Valley of the Scotish Rite in 2008 and recognized as 32* KCCH, Knight Commander of the Court of Honour in 2007 from the Scottish Rite.
Past Grand Pursuivant, Past Grand Orator, Past Grand Chaplin and 2017 Junior Grand Marshall of the Grand Lodge of Misouri and Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 19th Masonic Distirct of Missouri.
Past member of the Board of Directors of the Masonic Home of Missouri and 2017-2018 officer of the Missouri Lodge of Research
Brother Truman was the 2012 receipant of the Truman Medal issued by the Grand Lodge of Missouri for Outstanding Service to the Craft. The medal was presented by Grand Master John W Hess.

Masonic Services were held on Thursday December 14, 2017 with RWB David Brown and RWB Stan Bronw II presiding.
RWB Truman was buried next to his beloved wife in Blue Springs Cemetery, Blue Springs Missouri with full military honors.
